About Yarning Circles

The yarning circle concept is used by many First Nations peoples across the world. It's a space for active listening and reflection. Join us to learn more about First Nations culture and why the Uluru Statement and a First Nations Voice are so important.

Feet on Country

At the end of the yarning circle participants are asked to put their feet on country and share it with us. See the amazing gallery below:

Thank you to the Gubbi Gubbi Elders, past present and future - who maintained and continue to maintain the health and beauty of this place through advocacy, song and story. I joined an online Uluru Statement From the Heart Yarning Circle this week. I can away with enormous respect for the competence, capability, organisation and endearing humanity of the women behind the document and the movement. Especially Pat Anderson and Megan Davis. IMHO These women are offering extraordinary leadership - transparent, passionate, affirmative, effective. They are leaders I can believe in and get behind. They asked us to post a photo of #feetoncountry and to throw the windows open to let the yarn travel in the wind. Heads in both worlds right?! I highly recommend joining a yarning circle to hear the real story of the Uluru Statement from the beginning. And the clear rationale for a Voice. This NAIDOC week, I choose to see and seek freedom, love and hope for all Australians, especially the Indigenous peoples. @ulurustatement #NAIDOCweek #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #timeToDream #feetoncountry #followyourjoy

Got Questions about the Referendum?

Don't rely on politicians and the media and risk misinformation.

I encourage you to attend a yarning circle and hear first-hand from First Nations leaders sharing their thoughts about why #VoteYes to #VoiceToParliment #feetoncountry #yarningcircle @ulurustatement

Will it make everything better? No one is saying it will, but it is a step in the right direction.

My feet are on Gunaikurnai Country standing for a First Nations Voice to Parliament. https://lnkd.in/gzX3VuEA

What a privilege to hear from Megan Davis, Pat Anderson and Lucy Davis in today’s Start a Yarn Yarning Circle. Constitutional change has always been made in principle first, as in the establishment of the High Court in 1901. We need a Voice to Parliament to give some consistency to First Nations representation. It will act as a circuit breaker to the endless cycle of having to go begging to Canberra every time there is a change in government or public service. It’s time to stop forcing First Nations people into being fringe dwellers in their own country.
